Outline Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Hobart and spend the day birding in the reserves around Hobart, including a visit to Mount Wellington. Overnight Hobart (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 2Half day flight to the South West World Heritage area. Overnight Bruny Island (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 3Early morning birdwalk followed by a 3 hour eco-cruise to see some spectacular coastline and a range of seabirds. Afternoon exploring a number of different habitats from coastal beaches to rainforest areas. Another night trip after dinner to see a range of Tasmania’s nocturnal marsupials. Overnight Bruny Island (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 4Leave Bruny Island after breakfast and travel towards Mount Field National Park. Overnight near Mount Field National Park (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 5Leave the National Park and travel to the Cradle Mountain area. Then onto a Wilderness Lodge late afternoon. Overnight near Cradle Mountain (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 6Spend the day exploring the Cradle Mountain area. Overnight near Cradle Mountain (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 7Leave the Cradle Mountain area after breakfast and travel northwards to see more of Tasmania’s wildlife, including a visit to a National Park near the north coast of Tasmania. Overnight B&B near the national Park (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day 8Travel to Launceston after breakfast, visiting the Tamar wetlands en route. Depart from Launceston airport from late morning onwards. (Breakfast (and Lunch depending on flight departure time))
